The Future of This Blog
I first started this blog back in 2022. Back then, I had no expectations of getting any real attention. It was just a place where I could share some of my thoughts on how to develop folkish ideas for the 21st century. But over the next three years it grew, and some people that I didn’t think I would ever interact with shared my posts or otherwise helped to promote it.
Subscribers to the blog will have noticed that I haven’t been very active recently. This is about to change. Over the next week I am going to be introducing paid subscriptions. I don’t want to ask my subscribers for too much money, so a monthly subscription will be $5 and a yearly subscription will be $50.
What you will get in return is 4 posts for paid subscribers per month—one every Tuesday—covering a range of content including translations, reviews, studies of interesting thinkers, and original work. Some plans for future work include translations from Hans Zehrer’s magazine, Die Tat, Paul de Lagarde’s Deutsche Schriften, an essay on the life and work of Dr. Samuel Johnson, and one of my own articles on what I think the English ideal is. The sixty or so previous posts on the blog will remain free to access.
Thank you to everyone who has subscribed and engaged with the blog so far. If you like what I do, please consider becoming a paid subscriber. It would help me to devote more time to writing and research, so that I can produce better work in greater quantities for you.
